New Bus Stop
Parents can request a new bus stop on the approved form provided by the Transportation Department. Principals cannot authorize bus stops, nor can a driver make a bus stop without district approval.
To expedite your request please fill out the Request For A New Bus Stop form and email or deliver it to the Transportation Department. Upon receipt of this information we will look at your situation and determine if a new stop would fall within the guidelines given to us by the state and local board. Students must continue to utilize the preexisting bus stop until a decision is made and the parent(s) have been contacted.
The Transportation Department makes every effort to rectify parent concerns in a timely manner. All phone conversations, radio transmissions, and office visits are recorded on a Transaction Form. Things often resurface and accurate information concerning past actions taken greatly facilitates the solving of problems.
Upon receiving a parent concern, the Transportation Department will make the necessary contact with the bus driver, contractor and/or school personnel. After reviewing the situation the Director will contact the parent(s)/guardian(s) with the outcome so a resolution can be made.
Video cameras are installed on all school buses and will be utilized in reaching a determination of specific situations. However, due to Idaho weather, road conditions and a time limit while the bus is parked; video footage cannot always be extracted.
A transaction form may be completed and submitted to the transportation office by the parent(s)/guardian(s) if there is a concern they would like to address.
Kindergarten routes are created on a yearly basis considering location of students and number of students enrolled. AM and PM session will be determined after the final kindergarten registration in efforts to maintain even student numbers per session.
It is recommended that kindergarten students are not dropped off at their stop if no one is home to receive them. If a kindergarten student is retained on the bus they will be delivered back to the school they attend and their parent(s)/guardian(s) will be contacted.
A Drop & Go form may be filled out if the parent(s)/guardian(s) wish to have their child(ren) dropped off regardless of someone being home. This form must be turned into the Transportation Department.
At the completion of Kindergarten Registration routes will be organized and created. If your student is attending the AM Session they will be required to utilize existing bus stops and will be dropped off as close to your home as possible. The PM Session students will be picked up as close to your home as possible and dropped off at existing bus stops with the elementary students.
Kindergarten will only be bused within the elementary boundary they reside in. If a daycare provider is located outside of the students boundary it will be the responsibility of the daycare and/or parent(s)/guardian(s) to provide transportation.
